The Kitchen Places Blueprint for Bathroom Remodeling: 7 Tips

Here’s how to get the bathroom of your dreams without making your budget a nightmare.

So most people dream about a bathroom extremely comfortable and has their personal style attached to it, but they also want materials, fixtures, and amenities with lasting value. Wake up! You can have both.

A midrange bathroom remodel is a solid investment, according to the “2015 Remodeling Impact Report” from the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. A bath remodel with a national median cost of $26,000 will recover about 58% of those costs when it’s time to sell your home. Whoa!

Regardless of payback potential, you’ll probably be glad you went ahead and updated your bathroom. Homeowners polled for the “Report” gave their bathroom renovation a Joy Score of 9.3 — a rating based on those who said they were happy or satisfied with their project, with 10 being the highest rating and 1 the lowest.

TKP’s 5 Easy Steps to Kitchen Cabinet Organization

Organizing your kitchen cabinets may seem like a discouraging task, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ve created a guide for you to use next time you decide you’ve had enough of your existing kitchen cabinet storage configuration. Whether you store food items in your cabinets, or bake ware, cookware, and dishes, there are some awesome ways to keep it all together and organized. The following are kitchen organization solutions to help you organize and de-clutter your cabinets.

What You’ll Need:

  • Pan organizers
  • Cabinet baskets
  • Small shelving units
  • Shelf dividers
  • Spice Organizers

Kitchen Organization Step 1 – Clear Them Out.

Before you can organize the kitchen cabinets, you’ll need to remove everything. Separate all of the items you remove from the cabinets into the following three piles:

  • Pile 1 – Trash:This would include empty food packaging, anything expired, broke containers, appliances that don’t work, etc.
  • Pile 2 – Donate:It’s a good idea to give away any edible food items or working appliances that you know you’ll never use. You can donate the food items to a food pantry and any dishes, pots, pans, and appliances to a newlywed or a thrift store.
  • Pile 3 – Keep:This is the pile that we’ll work with when setting up your new organized kitchen cabinets.

After you’ve separated all of the items, use kitchen cleaning supplies to clean out the cabinets. Wipe them down, starting with the top shelves and working your way down.

The Kitchen Place Guide: Buying IKEA vs. Custom Cabinets

Here’s a quick overview on kitchen cabinets from custom designs to stock options

Cabinet construction could end up being the single biggest expense of your entire renovation, and the results are the most obvious visual proof of your investment, so this can feel like a heavy decision. But with the right education and research, it can be a seamless and easy decision. The challenge (and opportunity) is that your choices are endless, but if you focus on a few key factors, you can find the right cabinets for your kitchen renovation.

Even though it’s tempting to assume that your budget is the only consideration and while it’s true that custom cabinets can be a lot more expensive than stock cabinets, they don’t have to be. Even the cheapest kitchen is an huge investment, so if budget isn’t necessarily the deciding factor, how should you decide and how can you keep your budget from dictating your choices? Let’s take a look at a few definitions:

Custom vs Pre-Fabricated Cabinets?

Stock cabinets

IKEA is generally considered the go-to for stock cabinets. Unlike most anyone else, they mass-produce a system of set sizes, colors, finishes, and features that you pick and choose. The pieces of your order are pulled from stock supplies and shipped to your home, where you need to handle both the assembly and installation. IKEA keeps costs low because they are sending your order to you in pieces and because the materials they use are very inexpensive.

Cabinets are the focal point of a kitchen. Sure, they’re boxes with shelves, drawers, and doors, but they’re your kitchen’s furniture, and they should be built to last with a design that represents the personality of their owner. Our Spokane Kitchen Cabinetry Company suggest that you make sure your cabinets match the flow of your home.

Custom cabinets provide unlimited kitchen design options

Cabinets from a big box store may be cheaper (sometimes), but they’re never a better value than cabinets that are custom made. When you add together all of the benefits of custom cabinetry, you’ll understand why homeowners who choose custom kitchen cabinets enjoy their decision every day.
